What is NOT A SAINT about?
NOT A SAINT is a fan zine that will center on Trigun’s Nicholas D. Wolfwood. The zine will be:
† rated 18+ due to mature themes;
† free; and
† available for download as a PDF.
Will other characters be featured? How about ships?
As long as the focus is on Wolfwood, other Trigun characters may also feature in art and stories. Any prominent ship should also involve Wolfwood. However, there are no restrictions on characters or ships otherwise.
What does the 18+ rating mean?
The main body of NOT A SAINT will not contain explicit sexual situations but will still be rated 18+ for canon-typical mature themes (including child experimentation, child abuse, violence, etc). If there’s interest, we also plan to offer an additional NSFW bonus download that includes sexual content.
What do mean that this zine is free?
Exactly that. NOT A SAINT is a community fan project and will be provided to fans for free as a digital download.
What will be in the zine?
Here are NOT A SAINT's goals:
† The focus of this zine is Wolfwood, so all fanworks should center around him.
† Any Trigun canon is welcome (e.g. manga, ‘98 anime, or Stampede).What is NOT in the scope of this zine?
† Fanworks that do not center around Wolfwood.
† AUs.
Is there any subjects or topics not allowed in the zine?
There are no content restrictions for this zine. However, we do ask all creators to provide accurate and robust content warnings, which will be included in the zine to help the audience navigate the fanworks in whatever way is most comfortable for them.
Does the submission have to be new? Can it be a continuation of prior content? Can I publish it elsewhere?
The mods ask that all fanworks be:
† a complete, stand-alone work,
† previously unpublished, and
† made entirely by the submitting creator (i.e. no plagiarized, recolored, AI-generated, etc works).
What does AU mean?
For purpose of this zine, we are defining "AU" as a fully or largely alternative universe, which means that canon divergence, post-canon, pre-canon, or anything else that is strongly based on the existing Trigun universes is allowed).For example, a modern coffee shop AU is not in scope whereas Trigun Stampede’s Vash opening a coffee shop after the end of the show would be. Or a modern high school AU would not be in scope whereas a fic based on the idea that Wolfwood and Vash meet at a different time in their lives based in the manga universe would be.

Application Period
† May 15 - May 31 - Contributor applications open
† June 10 - Contributor results sent out
Creation Period
† June 17 - Check-in #1 (creators will submit more details on their submitted idea)
† July 1 - Check-in #2 (creators will provide a status)
† July 15 - Check-in #3 (creators will submit a partial draft or sketch)
† July 31 - Final deadline (creators must provide their full work)
Publication
† November 4 - Zine released as a free digital download

Applications Information
For the main zine, we are looking for:
† 20 artists
† 10 writers(We will also be selecting additional artists and authors for a NSFW add-on if there is interest.)
What will you need to apply?
† An idea – tell us what you want to make for Wolfwood!† Portfolio – this can be a link to your ao3 or your Twitter/any other image hosting site. Please call attention to one or two pieces you are particularly proud of. (Please note: you do not have to have Trigun works already created, but please showcase any Trigun works if you do have any.)† An email you check regularly – although we will also have a discord for planning, an email will be required for some communications.† Discord – optional but highly encouraged.† Love and peace – you must be willing to work with fellow fans in a respectful and kind way (some fans will have a different ship or perspective, we ask all participants to respect each other and start from a place of support and positivity).
